Forrest City is experiencing a period of growth following several years of planning, building, and refocusing our industrial recruitment efforts. A team of both public and private partners worked for years to create the right environment for companies seeking competitive workforce training, prime logistical real estate, and low utility rates; and those efforts are beginning to pay off.
Following the community's support of an incentives sales-tax for job-producing industrial projects, we looked to the expertise of long-time economic developer Kay Brockwell, of Future Focus, to represent Forrest City to our industrial prospects. Forrest City's trust in Kay was not misplaced. Within a year Forrest City was once again hosting industrial tours and marketing our sites to national trade publications. Our community's willingness to invest has officially paid off with the recent announcement of Shandong Ruyi Technology Group, but the chamber of commerce is just getting started.
Your chamber's board of directors remain committed to finding the right companies for our workforce, and the right tools for our existing industries. Our efforts will continue to focus on economic and community development to help enhance our members', and their customers', quality of life.
