HOSPITAL
Forrest
City residents never worry about health care needs with Forrest City Medical Center (870-261-0000) located at 1601 Newcastle Road in Forrest City.  The hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations. FCMC offers a broad range of services including surgical specialists, a level II nursery, coronary and intensive care services, a level III emergency room, diagnostics such as CT scan, mammography, ultrasound and nuclear medicine, and much more. It is the regional medical center in a six-county area.  It has a one hundred eighteen bed capacity, with six in intensive care.  It has a twenty-four hour physician staffed emergency room and a hospital based paramedic ambulance service.
 

HOMECARE AND HOSPICE
Homecare offers skilled compassionate services for home visits to help speed recovery. Regional Homecare, Northeast Arkansas Homecare, Crittenden Regional Hospital Home Health and the St. Francis Health Unit serve the area in home health care for the sick or injured of our community.

Hospice is a special way of caring for those with a terminal illness.  Hospice specializes in care, not cure.  Patient's Choice Hospice, Legacy Hospice and the St. Francis County Health Unit provide this valuable service to Forrest City and the surrounding counties. 

OTHER MEDICAL SERVICES
Dentists, physicians and surgeons, chiropractors and optometrists are all available for your health care needs.  There are four pharmacies available for your prescription needs. 

NURSING HOMES
Crestpark Retirement Inn of Forrest City (870-633-4260) provides skilled care as an option for its residents.  These facility is located  500 Kittle Road.
 
SENIOR CITIZEN SERVICES
East Arkansas Agency on Aging (870-494-3300) provides many services for our senior citizens.  These programs are designed to insure the elderly have the care they need and deserve. This agency provides an adult day care for senior citizens.  These citizens are provided with a
noon meal plus two snacks every Monday through Friday.  They also participate in cultural activities, physical exercise, and parties for special occasions. EAAAA is located at 313 Arkansas Street.
 
COUNSELING SERVICES
Counseling Services of Eastern Arkansas provides mental health services to the six county area.  It offers individual and family counseling, outpatient day treatment, and crisis intervention.  The office is located at 4451 N. Washington, phone 870-633-3800.   A local crisis line is also available.

Counseling Consultants, located at 1825 E. Broadway, phone 870-633-2328 also provides metal health services to the community. Programs for children and adults are available. Counseling Consultants also provides 24 hour emergency service.
 

ST.
FRANCIS COUNTY HEALTH UNIT
The St. Francis County Health Unit offers family planning, maternity care, immunizations, WIC, and EPSDT, which provides total assessment to Medicaid recipients. Their office is located at 413 North Division, phone 870-633-1340.

DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES
The Department of Human Services, located at 1200 East Broadway, phone 870-633-1242, assists qualified persons with Medicaid, Food Stamps, and TEA.  Disabled persons who have to be admitted to nursing homes are covered through this department with Medicaid coverage. Children and Family Services, also a part of DHS, offers support services for children and families such as foster care, protective services, and adoption services.
 
HEALTH OFFICE
The Area IX Health Office, located at 1501 Dawson Road, phone 870-633-6812, offers local health education classes such as CPR, Stress Management and Conflict Resolution.
