The Forrest City School District educates approximately 4,000 students each year in grades PreK-12. Comprehensive special services programs are offered. Grades K-12 in the district are fully recognized by the Arkansas Department of Education, North Central Accreditation, and all offer Gifted and Talented programs.
The ABC Pre-School (870-261-1807) enrollment includes toddlers, 3 years - 4 years old that meet at least one of the following requirements: low birth weight, low income, low educational level of parents, developmental delay, teen parent, substance abuse/addiction, or child abuse/neglect. The main goal of the school is to enable children to enter Kindergarten ready to learn. Components of ABC Pre-School are H.I.P.P.Y., Parents as Teachers, and Parent Involvement.
On the elementary level, the district is one of only a few in the state to offer a program of parent choice through a computer generated choice system. This program offers a unique learning environment. Parents of elementary aged students can choose the school for their children to attend.

All students receive instruction in Art, Music, and Physical Education taught by certified teachers.
Lincoln Middle School (870-261-1810) for grades five and six offers many specialized courses including Connected Math, Accelerated Math, Accelerated Reading, and Direct Instruction. Other software in use at Lincoln includes Learning Expectations and Skills Bank. Band is an elective that is offered to students.
Forrest City Junior High (870-633-3230) also offers specialized courses and extensive electives for grades seven and eight including computer classes, business courses, band, and honor courses to students. Orchard Labs are available to improve math and language skills. Skills Bank is in use for reading and language arts for 8th graders and a state of the art "I Can Learn" Lab is also used to enhance Pre-Algebra and Algebra skills for 8th grade students.
Forrest City High School (870-633-1464) offers 141 courses which includes all disciplines. Curriculum is based on a two-track system: college preparatory or technical preparation. Special offerings include advanced placement courses for juniors and seniors, gifted and talented programs, and vocational/technical classes. A Cisco Academy/Oracle Academy Lab, along with 9 other computer labs offers instruction in computer networking, database design and programming, drafting, and computer assisted business. Broadcasting classes offer vast knowledge and experiences through the school's Mustang Channel 17. Auto mechanics and Agriculture are also offered. Extracurricular activities include quiz bowl, football, basketball, softball, baseball, volleyball, cross country, track, golf, tennis, cheerleading, dance team, foreign language, Navy Junior ROTC, band, and choir. Many other activities are also included to promote academic and athletic excellence. Also, con-current credit courses are offered at East Arkansas Community College.
Calvary Christian School (870-644-5333) provides educational programs for students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. An Abeka curriculum is featured at Calvary. This is an intensive and Christian-oriented course of study, designed to challenge students academically and spiritually. Music classes and programs are offered at all levels, including the high school choir and children's choir and drama groups.
Calvary provides year-round day care for both toddlers and older children. This program is open to the public. In addition, a before and after school day care program is offered for Calvary students.
Athletic programs are also offered at elementary and high school levels. Elementary students may participate in basketball, soccer, or cheerleading while high school students may choose basketball, soccer, volleyball, or cheerleading.
Caldwell Christian Academy (870-630-0370) also offers an academically challenging Abeka-based curriculum in a independent, interdenominational Christian environment. Athletic programs are offered at the junior high and high school levels.
East Arkansas Community College(870-633-4480) is a full-service community college that serves eastern Arkansas. EACC’s faculty and staff is committed to providing students of all ages and stages of life access to high quality and affordable academic, technical and non-credit education. EACC offers a core of general education classes that are fully transferable to other state-supported colleges and universities. The College also offers a full range of academic and technical scholarships and financial aid and payment options. EACC also offers customized industry training opportunities for area business and industries. Students have the option of taking classes at our Forrest City campus, the Wynne-Site at the Bill Thomas Building in Wynne and many other locations within our five-county service area. Crowley's Ridge Technical Institute (870-633-5411) strives to provide quality, low cost training to individuals who are interested in becoming gainfully employed. The school offers specialized training by qualified, experienced faculty in 14 full-time programs (see below) that range in length from 37 to 53 weeks. It also offers 3 short-term programs (see below), evening classes, and customized on-site industry training. The low student to instructor ratio allows students to obtain more hands-on training in the lab/shop areas and individualized instruction in the classroom. For those individuals interested in obtaining a GED, Crowley's Ridge Technical Institute offers free day and nighttime ABE/GED classes. The classes are held on the main campus in Forrest City and in various other locations (Brinkley, Clarendon, Hickory Ridge, Hughes, Marianna, Parkin, and Wynne). To better serve the community, Crowley's Ridge Technical Institute prides itself on maintaining low tuition rates, minimum mark-up on textbooks and supplies, no remedial classes, and free transportation (within the school’s service area).
